FAQ
Short answers. The docs have the long ones.
What is Buttpad?
Buttpad is a launchpad for tokens on pump.fun. You fill in a name, ticker, description and image, connect Phantom, and sign one transaction. The token is created from your wallet. Its creator fees are pointed at Buttpad's wallet.
What does the token do?
Nothing. It trades on pump.fun like any other token created there. That is the whole feature set.
Where do the fees go?
To Buttpad's wallet. pump.fun pays a share of every trade to the address recorded as the token's creator. Buttpad puts its own address there. The fees accrue and stay put. They are not used for buybacks, burns, rewards, marketing or anything else. The payments page does not show a total. Fees, utility and flywheels are listed as zero.
So I launch a token and get none of the fees?
Correct. That is stated before you launch, in the confirmation you tick, and in the terms. If you want the creator fees from your token, pump.fun itself is the right place to launch it.
Is there a flywheel?
No.
What do I pay?
You pay pump.fun's token creation cost and the Solana network fee, plus whatever you choose to spend on an initial buy. All of it leaves your wallet in the one transaction you sign. Buttpad does not add a fee of its own and never takes custody of your funds.
Is the token really deployed from my wallet?
Yes. Your address is the payer and the signer of the creation transaction, and it appears on-chain as the account that created the token. Buttpad prepares the transaction and adds the signature of the fresh mint keypair. Your wallet adds yours. Nothing is sent to the network until both are present, and the server checks that the transaction it relays is byte for byte the one it prepared.
Can Buttpad move my funds or sign on my behalf?
No. Buttpad never sees your private key. It hands your wallet a transaction to review and sign, and your wallet shows you exactly what it does before you approve it. If you do not like what you see, decline it and nothing happens.
Which wallets are supported?
Phantom. On desktop, install the browser extension. On mobile, open this site inside Phantom's in-app browser for the smoothest experience, or tap connect in any mobile browser and you will be handed to the Phantom app and back.
Why does mobile bounce me to the Phantom app?
Mobile browsers cannot host a wallet extension, so Phantom offers an encrypted deep link protocol instead. Buttpad uses it as documented: keys are exchanged, the request is encrypted, Phantom shows you the transaction, and you are returned to Buttpad to finish. Your launch is kept locally while you are away so the page can pick up where it left off.
Where are the image and description stored?
On IPFS, the same way pump.fun stores metadata for tokens created through its own site. The token's on-chain record points at that metadata, so pump.fun displays your name, ticker, image and description exactly as you entered them.
What if the transaction fails?
If your wallet rejects it, nothing is charged. If the network drops it, the launch is marked failed and you can try again. If it expires before it is sent, same thing. The result page tells you which happened. Network fees for a transaction that landed but failed are not refundable by anyone, including Buttpad.
Can I set an initial buy?
Yes. Enter an amount in SOL and it is purchased in the same transaction that creates the token, so you are the first buyer. Leave it blank to create the token with no initial purchase.
Can I get my token removed from the Buttpad site?
From the site, on request. From pump.fun and the chain, no. Tokens and their metadata are public and permanent once created, which is true of every token on Solana and not specific to Buttpad.
Is this a joke?
The tokens are real, the transactions are real, and the fees really accrue to Buttpad. Everything else is presented as plainly as we can manage. Read the docs if you want the long version.
